Anyone hear about the Miss USA debacle?? or shall i say miss runner up to Miss USA??

Now i don't watch Miss USA, not because i think there is anything wrong with these type of competitions, but more so that i might just have to go take a 2 hour run after watching these ridiculous fit women parade their perfectly fit bodies around.....and i no likey run. K??

Anyway, moving right along. Miss Cali was asked by none other than your favorite blogger and mine PEREZ HILTON (hmmm i wonder why they chose HIM to ask)

"Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage," "Do you think every state should follow suit, why or why not."

and Miss California answered (basically) "I think it is great that in America we are given the option to choose, however, in my family i was raised to believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman."

NOW, I am not writing this blog to promote my views on this issue. If you were to ask me i wouldn't be able to answer for me its too complicated an answer...I would love and respect you no matter what your choice.....however, I simply cannot believe that because she opened her mouth and spoke the truth about what she believed, that she immediately became the focus of the news media for the days that followed.

COME ON PEOPLE.

Isn't this what America is ALL ABOUT, the freedom of choice.....and isn't this in fact what the whole uproar over Gay marriage is about?? That being humans they should be able to choose??

It is ABSURD to me that he is walking around bashing someone for doing the very thing HE chooses to do on a daily basis....speak the truth about how he feels. I don't know about YOU but i would want MY miss America to be REAL about who she is and how she feels. And not hide her gut feelings....because otherwise she is being FAKE and misleading us all.

Just because she has her opinions, like you do Perez.....does not mean she is a dumb B. What would you have said if she lied....won the crown and then later someone over heard the truth......

Moral of the story...EVERY ONE black, white, man, woman, gay, or hetero has the FREEDOM to believe whatever they choose without judgement.

My boys are far from the age of "awakening" but yesterdays Oprah show really had me all emotional about what is to come.....

(yes i actually watched it *gasp* i know)

Anyone else watch it??

First of all the whole "master...." i cant even finish the word, issue sorta ticked me off.....

I don't think it is "normal or natural" for a four year old to do that....I'M SORRY!! Can i get an AMEN??

But when they started the segment on "teen sex" i was overwhelmed with emotion, and pleased at how the therapist handled the FOURTEEN YEAR OLDS who thought they were "ready" to have sex.

Maybe its because of what i went through.....(if you aren't familiar with my "superman" story you need to be) but man oh man did i have a very hard time getting through that segment. I wanted to jump right through the TV and on to that set and shake those children....screaming DON'T DO IT....SAVE YOUR SELF!!!

If you have a teen child watching this episode would be great for you, because it gives you a series of questions to ask your child about sex.

It seemed to become a WHOLE new monster after they were asked VERY specific questions.

The one segment and question i was most intrigued by was when they asked :

"how long do you plan to stay together?"

My heart just broke into a million pieces when the young man started to answer......first he said

"well, a long time"

and then (here's the kicker) he was asked more specifically:

"how long do you consider to be "a long time" " and he answered

"6 months to a year"

I watched as the young girls whole demeanor changed....you could tell she was heart broken.....and i found myself weeping and answering for her when SHE was asked "how long did you expect to be together after making this BIG decision to give a piece of yourself to him?"

Come on ladies....we all know what we were thinking when we made that decision......

maybe some of you didn't, especially when you were at a mature age where you understood. But when you are a child, you think love is forever....i know this because this is what i thought.

I'm sure i am not the only mom who hopes and prays that her sons wait....but if they choose not to i will make SURE my sons know how BIG of a decision it is.

That it will effect them and their partner for the rest of their lives.....

that they will be allowing a piece of themselves to stay with that person forever.....

that they should ask themselves AND their partner what the expectations are afterwards, what they would do if they got pregnant, contracted an std or how long they expect to be together.......

Anyway, as i said....my boys are still very young.....but i am prayerfully preparing myself for this issue.

Father i need your guidance for whats to come.

i dont want them to grow up..... :(

Easter Weekend

My weekend, although i was miserable, was sooo long, and i have the pictures to prove it.

Friday Broseph turned 30....poor guy....so we had margaritas, fatty mcgee foods, and FUN with the Wii

Then Saturday was an errand day, and on to my Bee fri Linders house for the most amazing green enchiladas i have EVER had....i told her pops that he totally should open a resturant. Then we ladies sat and watch the THRILLING (can you catch the sarcasum) lifetime movie "tribute" The whole time i kept thinking about how britney murphy has TOTALLY had something done in her mouth region i just cant quite figure it out......it puzzled me. Dont have any pics of that...but here are some of my fabulous flowers to gaze at....

i got a rowdy sunburn planting them, so easterish arent they?? Speaking of Easter here are some pics of me and my HANDSOME boys!!

Dada was sooo sleepy and sickly....so cute that he mustered a smile for this....i think i got him sick....sorry honey!!

We had breakfast with the inlaws and then on to Easter services at the Freeman collesium. YEP i said it collesium....our church has 7 services on the weekend and so came the idea to have us all at the same place at the same time....it was amazing, they had kids activities and the worship was awesome!!




Our Church partnered with the san antonio food bank in hopes to restock it during these hard economical times where they are running really low, and when i left they had already filled 5 big moving trucks FULL of food and they were still loading.

After the service we headed to pops house for my Adams family gathering and easter egg hunt....they fill HUNDREDS of eggs for my HUGE family....logan and landon RAKED it in. And then on to mimaws for some fun, food, and the masters......*YAWN Here is a pic of all the golf freaks




I think i pretty much ate my wieght in food on sunday...time for some cardio!!
